Civitas: Public Discussions in Lithuania

“An uneducated society can‘t be political, so it is democratic“ Algis Mickunas

The political education of adults, civil dialogue and public discussions are becoming very important in a modern geopolitical situation. The uneducated society can easily turn into an “easy target“ for propaganda and various manipulations, it‘s easier to trigger conflicts and more difficult to unite this type of societies.

Civitas clubs of public discussions is the continuos programme of Civil Society Institute. The aim of this programme is to encourage the strengthening of Lithuanian civil society by educating adults. The heart of Civitas is 39 clubs, located in various regions of Lithuania where communities discuss economics, politics, history and art together with the guest lecturers and speakers.

Come to us, discuss and create a civil society!
