Since 2015, Maltesers work with youth in open youth centers, which are located in Aukštadvaris and Kaunas. The center in Kaunas was established with the initiative of bikers and a technical direction of activity was chosen. Later, the direction has changed, but the goal remained – to invite young people for common activity, get them out of the streets and away from computers.
The activity in these centers is free of charge, registration and obligations, so that anyone have an opportunity to visit. We seek to attract youngsters, who have difficulties to become a part of their peers or get on with adults, lack motivation to study, see no point or are tend to commit a crime, use alcohol or any other toxic stuff.
In order to attract young people to open centers, the created space and services have to meet their needs, be innovative, encourage to develop, be safe, attractive with qualified employees, who have abilities to work with youth that are in search of their way.
The aim of the project. Your support is needed to continue our work and improve the quality of it. Support will be intended to inrease youth occupation according to their individual needs and abilities, ensure professional assistance and modernise the center space.
