PROJECT IDEA 💡
Since October 2025, Ukraine has been experiencing constant Russian attacks specifically targeting energy infrastructure, and the beginning of 2026 brought a double blow: first, the attacks on January 8–9, followed by the January 20 attack, along with unfavorable weather conditions. Russia is using harsh weather as a weapon, and it works to their advantage. For these reasons, the organization “Stiprūs kartu,” together with the Lithuanian National Museum of Art and partners, renewed the initiative “Warm Ukraine” – the people of Lithuania have already donated enough funds to purchase and deliver the first 245 generator kits. Each kit includes a diesel generator, a heater, an extension cord, a rechargeable light, and the oil required for the generator, and new shipments are already being loaded and will soon head to where they are needed this very second.
WHY THIS MATTERS 🤝
This is the hardest winter Ukrainians have had to endure so far – air temperatures remain as low as those we experience in Lithuania. The situation in Ukraine is more than critical. Many schools, hospitals, residential buildings, and care facilities are without electricity and heating. In the face of Russian aggression and mass attacks against civilians and critical infrastructure, the funds raised through the “Warm Ukraine” project will help ensure vitally important support for the country’s residents during this harsh winter.
IMPACT 🌍
The renewed support campaign “Warm Ukraine” launched on January 21, and the first generators and heaters have already reached humanitarian aid centers in Zviahil, Kyiv, and Dnipro. More than one hundred generators of various capacities, extension cords, lights, and heaters will be delivered to large families, as well as educational, medical, and care institutions.
Let us not allow Ukrainians’ desire for freedom to be frozen!
