Thermo boxes for safe food

"Thermo boxes for safe food" is a project, which would help Food bank to buy thermo-isolated boxes, which are necessary to collect and transport fresh food from supermarkets to Food bank.

About the project. The goal of the this project – to help Food bank to ensure cold chain when transporting quickly perished food from a new support giver – one of the biggest trade networks to 9 Food bank storehouses in Lithuania. During the pilot project, we made sure that from one store about 300 kg dairy products can be saved per week. These products need to be kept in low temperature, so transportation in thermo-isolated boxes is necessary. We have an opportunity to expand the pilot project to 21 supermarkets in 9 Lithuania cities. This will save about 300 tonnes of fresh food per year! It is 605 000 additional food portions for people in poverty.

Funds will be allocated to purchase 150 thermo-isolated boxes with freezing elements.
