The program attracts motivated people into the field of education who, for at least two years, work in schools to help each child, regardless of their social, cultural or economic situation, realize their potential and make everyone feel respected and valued in schools.
With your support, we will be able to:
Reduce social exclusion in education.
● At present, the gap in student achievement due to the socio-economic situation in small towns is so large that it would take them 2 extra years to catch up with their peers on average in big cities;
● Higher education is only available to every 4 children from low-income families.
Create a school where everyone feels good.
● 31% of Lithuanian students feel out of school (3rd place in 72 countries);
● 34% of students at school feel simply uncomfortable, out of place (5th out of 72 countries).
Develop a new approach to education and the teaching profession.
● At present, slightly less than 4% of young teachers under the age of 29 work in schools, and almost half of teachers (52.5%) are over the age of 50. We aim to change the attitude towards the teacher's work, to show that the teacher's work is meaningful, creative, encourages continuous learning, leadership, cultivating one's personal and professional competencies;
● Strengthen school communities and enable them to create sustainable change;
● Encourage public debate on education.
Thank you for contributing to sustainable and positive educational change!
