At "Mother Teresa's family home", we provide comprehensive assistance to families, the disabled, children and young people experiencing difficulties and various life crises. We aim to provide an environment that allows women experiencing crisis motherhood to live in a decent and dignified manner, while ensuring the proper development of infants and children.
The project, which provides social integrated services in cases of crisis maternity, is ongoing, and we have been implementing it since 2014. We were the only institution in the entire Šiauliai region providing accommodation and care services to help families. This project aims to fully help mothers survive the crisis and develop their ability to care for their children and integrate into society by providing temporary accommodation and care employee, social worker assistant, psychologist, and other services. We also develop their responsible parenting, provide educational services, teach them to acquire household and work skills, in addition, we promote the artistic expression of mothers and children (circles are organized).
The children's day center "Aš ir draugai" - "Me and Friends" established in the family home helps mothers how to care for, educate and play with their child. Mothers living in family homes in crisis are often self-grown in children's homes, have disabilities (mostly intellectual disabilities), belong to a social risk group and receive a low income. Currently, the Family House has 13 rooms for mothers with children.
