“I live in a detached house owned by my nephew without amenities. I'm too old for such a life, already want a toilet in the house, running warm water. "
"I foolishly overwrote the apartment for my daughter. Everything was fine until she took her new husband in. Now I'm being thrown into the street."
“I rent a room with another senior. I have no peace, I still think that a private owner can change his mind at any time and order to move out. And what will happen when the hostess dies? It’s been hard to throw myself from place to place in my years, I want a peaceful and secure angle for the rest of my life. ”
“Son is an addict, lives with me. I experience constant psychological violence, sometimes physical, deprivation of a bank card with a pension. It is impossible to get him out of the house with everything good or bad, he keeps appearing. I can't do that anymore. But where do I put it? Take a moment to rest your heart and body. ”
“I'm taking antidepressants, so lonely. All loved ones, all friends are already gone.. Getting out of the house to people is becoming physically difficult. I cried day and night until I heard about your house. ”
Dignified Homes receive such and similar stories from older people at least once every couple of weeks.
The first senior apartment of the Oriai House for Seniors started in 2018. in the autumn in Vilnius. Aukok.lt sponsors also contributed to its emergence. It immediately became clear that the most important problem for seniors in Lithuania today is not living in an existing home and maintaining it, but the uncertainty of what to do for an elderly person who has lost their roof over one head or another or is looking for a safer and more reliable alternative. Therefore, a senior who has fallen into a crisis situation at the Oriai House may simply rent a home. Unfortunately, all four apartments currently available are already occupied and those who have been asked to help have a waiting list, although they need help here and now.
Seeing the severe shortage of seniors for rent in Lithuania and encouraging the success stories of the residents of the first apartment building, with your help we are working to install the second Orius House! You have already helped us buy and repair the building, now the final stage - installation. The investment is large, but one-time - after the start of the activity, additional support will no longer be necessary, and the senior apartment building will maintain itself. Here, seniors who do not have their own homes or can no longer live in them safely will be able to rent a safe, reliable 24-30 m² apartment adapted to them at a reasonable price. Since not all seniors want the hustle and bustle of the city, this time we are building in a quiet town in Krokialaukis, Alytus district. In this 257 m2 building, we will install six apartments and a space for common activities. There is a private yard and a land garden. Behind the two houses - an outpatient clinic and an eldership, on the other side of the street there is a church, next to it - two shops, a library, there is an active community, good communication with Alytus. Seniors will have every opportunity not only to build their own home community, but also to connect with town life.
Let's contribute to the installation of the second Stallion House for Seniors! Donate alone and benefit for decades!
