Save the Children curates 49 children's day care centers through Lithuania, which are visited by about 1,000 children living in families in difficulty. Day care centers provide social and emotional support to children. Children and their parents establish a close relationship with the social worker who accompanies the child on the path of life: helping him to learn, improve his abilities and not break down in the face of difficulties. In day care centers, children prepare food, eat, prepare lessons, engage in educational social, artistic and scientific activities. Day care centers are an important help to families to keep children out of care and to be properly educated by parents who love them.
There is a great lack of quality educational activities for children attending day care centers, which help to reveal the different characteristics of children's character, their hobbies and talents. By being able to try out different professionally organized educational activities, children in difficulty can understand their desires more quickly, see the desired direction of their lives, set short-term and long-term goals for their lives and, with the help of social workers, achieve them.
The funds raised during the project will turn into art therapy, robotics, riding and other useful and interesting educational activities for children and will help to raise a motivated, proactive, goal-oriented young Lithuanian generation, even if today the starting positions of these children saved by Save the Children are far inferior to their peers.
We believe in the possibilities of every Lithuanian child. Trust them too!
