PROJECT IDEA 💡
“Music for Everyone” is a social initiative now in its eighth year, focused on live musical performances. Its goal is to make professional classical music accessible—especially to those for whom cultural events are difficult to reach due to illness, disability, remote place of residence, age, or financial hardship. Each year, the concerts reach hundreds of people across Lithuania. We collaborate with the country’s leading healthcare and social care institutions, prisons, and refugee centers. Every year, the project involves dozens of young professional classical musicians, giving them the opportunity to present their art and act with social responsibility.
WHY THIS MATTERS 🤝
During the project, it became clear that for many people these concerts were their first experience of listening to live classical music. The reasons vary: for children and adults with developmental and mental health disorders, concert halls may feel unsuitable due to unpredictable reactions to unfamiliar environments; for patients and seniors, limited mobility and weakened immunity make events inaccessible; for socially supported individuals, the cost is simply unaffordable. Let us give the joy of discovering music to those for whom it is not within easy reach!
IMPACT 🌍
The “Music for Everyone” project breaks down barriers between the healthy and the ill, the affluent and those living in hardship, residents of big cities and people in remote areas. This initiative is a contribution to making culture accessible to all. Scientific research has shown that music has a positive effect not only on mental and physical health, but also on emotional well-being, and for our audience these concerts are often the only opportunity to step away from a challenging daily reality. We believe that music can change lives!
