We all feel lonely sometimes, and most of the time this feeling goes away after a few days, but it’s much more dangerous when the tormented loneliness is the daily companion. Our attention is focused on the fact that the older a person is, the more often he or she feels lonely all the time.
Seniors loneliness , difficult relationships with loved ones, loss, or painful personal drama usually lead to emotional exhaustion, depression, and an inability to escape the cycle of endless problems. During the pandemic, these problems became especially strong, the social exclusion of seniors increased significantly, therefore it is necessary to help them – provide help and social communication, after the end of quarantine – to involve seniors in more active social life, educational, cultural and social activities.
Project goal – provided services in seniors homes. Volunteers will mediate in finding service providers, help with shopping, tidying up the house, prepare food, provide escort services, encourage seniors to communicate as much as possible, participate in day center activities where possible, and be a socially active member of the community.
