Helping lonely elderlies at home

Of course, it is best to live in your own home. But there comes the time when you need help, when the walls of your home do not help any longer. You need assistance of another person, at least a few hours a week to help with household chores, a supportive word, a cup of tea together - so that you don't have to leave your own home and move to a public one. Maltesers collect funds to help lonely people to stay in their warm homes as long as possible.

Who will benefit from the support?

With the funds raised, we will regularly help 200 seniors in their homes in 20 locations of Lithuania. Once reinforced, this assistance will be continuous.

Why is it important to donate now?

Malteser volunteers, in their contact with seniors, feel a great need for this assistance. Much more than we can currently meet. Both in the city and in remote villages - sometimes a person is so lonely that a Malteser volunteer becomes the only person who regularly visits, cuts the grass, brings firewood, replaces a burnt-out light bulb and buys food.

Lonely, poor old people need our help. After all, there are no elderlies - every elderly in need is our elderly.

All the raised money will go to:
• The initial training of the volunteer training team, which then will continue training new volunteers.
• Necessary expenses: organisation of the training process, public transport, communication.
• Volunteers' special clothing and other supplies needed for their work.

Let's help lonely elders together!
