At this moment about 11 thousand families more than 20 thousand children live in poor conditions. Due to these conditions, children feel hunger every day, they lack possibilities to go to school, they have no clean clothes and opportunities to enjoy a careless childhood. Most of those families sincerely take care of their children, however not always are able to overcome poverty and poor living conditions.
About the project. The goal of the Save the Children charity campaign and concert (March 29th, 2014 o LNK television) is to collect funds for Lithuanian families and children that are mostly vulnerable. A part of the collected funds will be dedicted to Save the Children day centres, which are attended by more than 900 children living in unfavorable conditions – poverty, social isolation. Day centres ensure basic children caring, education, appropriate society and identity perception. Children receive help from professionals, who have proper experience in working with children at social risk. Children day centres provide help for children since 1996. There are 30 Save the Children day centres in Lithuania.
