The charity and support fund "Rūpestinga širdelė" runs the "12 beating hearts" project, which has been joined by new patients. Thanks to your support, the project can be carried out smoothly and the children in care can be supplied with vital food mixtures!
Currently, the foundation cares for 16 young children from all over Lithuania who, due to their serious health condition, need gastrostomy and enteral feeding. Only hospitalized patients can receive compensation for the mixtures that are fed to children with a gastrostomy, but after returning home, parents have to buy special food mixtures and systems at their own expense. Approximately one family spends a little more than 500-600 euros per month on such food mixtures and necessary special systems, which amounts to a little more than 6,000 euros per year. With this project, we aim that during the Christmas period in the months of NOVEMBER - DECEMBER - JANUARY 2023, families participating in the "12 Beating Hearts" project from all over Lithuania will be provided with special enteral feeding mixtures.
The goal of the project is to bring the festive spirit of Christmas to every child's home. We want families and children to feel dignified and able to sit down at a rich Christmas table, sharing food, love and gifts.
The goal of "Caring Heart" is to provide families with special enteral nutrition throughout the Christmas period, thereby easing their financial burden, by uniting and achieving a common goal - to move forward with small steps on the difficult path of healing.
Also, all these children also have serious diagnoses that could be alleviated by visiting specialists. However, due to financial deprivation, parents cannot allow their children to do this as often as they should. Taking the financial burden off parents' shoulders would open up new opportunities for them to allow their child to visit specialists: physiotherapists, occupational therapists, logotherapists or others.
Your support can save a child's life!
