Could you imagine a day in the life of a non-ambulatory, wheelchair-bound person? There are all kinds of challenges, from getting out of bed, to getting stuck in the lift in the stairwell, you can't take the stairs... And here you have so much effort just to get out of the stairwell, to be able to go on with your daily routine. These are the problems that Vaidas, the founder of "Asistentinis Taxi", faces every day. Vaidas has been in a wheelchair since childhood after suffering a severe neck injury. Faced with the challenge of travelling easily and comfortably every day, he decided to set up Asistentinis Taxi to help other brothers and sisters in need to live a dignified and fulfilling life. Everyone wants to live an active life and move around in comfort. The aim of the organisation "Asistentinis Taxi" is to provide services that enable people with disabilities not only to get to medical and educational institutions, but also to have active leisure time and social contacts with friends and relatives. The main problems faced by people with disabilities are that taxis are usually not adapted for people with disabilities, and that the drivers (drivers) do not have the knowledge and skills to assist a person with disabilities. In many cases, the disabled person is either living in an environment that is not accessible to disabled people or travelling to a place that is not accessible to them. Therefore, the mission of "Asistentinis Taxi" is to promote the mobility of people with disabilities, to widen their possibilities, and to transport every person with a disability in comfort and convenience.
