Here, apartments are rented at better than market conditions by seniors who have lost their homes, who do not own them or who can no longer safely live in them. After the pilot apartment building proved successful, in 2023 Also, with the generous support of sponsors, the second apartment building for seniors opened its doors in Krokialauki, Alytus district. Here, after purchasing the building and renovating it, six more apartments were created for seniors to rent. All six were rented within 1.5 months. This shows how necessary the mission of Orių maių is - to create a network of senior apartment buildings throughout Lithuania, where a senior citizen who has fallen into a crisis situation, but is still independent, could rent housing under safer and better conditions than the market.
